수에즈 운하에 정확히 몇 개의 교량이 있는지 알 수 없지만 구글을 통해 본 교량 중에 규모면에서 가장 긴 교량은, 공사비의 60%를 일본의 무상원조를 받아 건설한 Suez Canal Bridge(Mubarak Peace Bridge, Egyptian-Japanese Friendship Bridge) 이고 그 다음이 오늘 소개할려는 세계 최장의 가동교 El Ferdan Bridge이다.
두바이 크릭(creek)을 가로지르는 세계 최장의 아치교가 건설될 예정이다. 두바이 도로교통국은 (Dubai Roads & Transport Authority, RTA) 지난 1월말 Al Shindagha Tunnel, Al Maktoum Bridge, the Floating Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge and Business Bay Crossing에 이어 두바이 크릭에 놓일 6번째 교량인 가칭 ‘Sixth Crossing’에 4개 응모작 중 미국의 FXFOWLE International이 제안한 지간 667m의 아치교를 최종 당선작으로 선정하였다.
세계 최장의 사장교인 Sutong Bridge 상부 데크(deck) 가설 동영상. 바지로 운반되어 온 최대 450tonf 상부 데크를 290tonf 용량의 jack을 이용하여 가설하였다. 가설 gantry는 영국의 Dorman Long Technology에서 설계, 제작하였다.
