Sagimai Bridge

2009년 일본 PCEA 작품상을 받은 로무교(鷺舞橋)는 ’2경간 연속 PC 현수교’라는 흔히 보기 힘든 교량형식으로 일본에선 처음 시공되었다고 한다. (교량에 대한 자세한 소개, 일본어 pdf file)

보도교에 케이블을 이용한 사장교나 현수교는 독일의 Jorg Schlaich 교수가 최고의 권위자라 할 수 있는데 교량을 설계한 일본 기술자도 Jorg Schlaich 교수의 작품에 감명받아 20여년 동안 적용할 기회를 찾다 로무교에 처음으로 적용하였다고 한다. 참고로 Jorg Schlaich 교수의 저서 The art of structural engineering에서 ‘경쾌함, 투명성 그리고 섬세함(lightness, transparency and filigree)’을 중시했던 그의 독창적인 보도교들을 볼 수 있다.
